Search

eXERD provides various features for fast searching of the wanted model on a diagram.

Find Table

• Press the shortcut Ctrl + T or select Find Table on pop-up menu.
• If you enter a name, matching tables are listed.

  

  Tip! It is also possible to enter a physical name or even a comment as a search keyword.

Showing Table Outline

If there are quite many columns in a table, you can search specific columns quickly.

• Press the shortcut Ctrl + O on the selected table, or select Show Table Outline on pop-up menu.

  

• On entering some part of the logical/physical name, the matched items are listed.

  

  Tip! On pressing Ctrl + O one more time, the scope of searching is extended to the columns of the parent table.
• In addition to column search, this feature enables quick access to the parent/child table(s) for a specific table.

  

Seeing Table at Other Places

• You can also see a table in Model View, or other diagrams for which the table is used. For a specific table, select View in Other Places in pop-up menu, and then the sub-menu lists up the available views and diagrams that the table can is viewed.

  

Finding a Domain

• Search a domain by pressing the shortcut Ctrl + F in domain view.
