JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) Driver

JDBC is an interface standard for java based program to interact with database.

eXERD uses JDBC in order to connect and communicate with database. To connect database with JDBC, JDBC driver is needed.

Getting JDBC Driver

Oracle
- In case of the driver Oracle database, you can get the driver from [OracleHome]/jdbc/lib.

  Note! Old versions of Oracle drivers – up to 9.2.0.5, don’t provide any method for version information using meta data. Be sure to use version 9.2.0.8 or later of which ojdbc14.jar driver supports JDK 1.4. The later version driver provides compatibility for lower versions. So it is recommended to use the latest version of ojdbc6.jar which supports JDK 1.6.
  
  Tip! oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver class of Oracle driver class has stopped support from Oracle 9.x version. It is provided only for compatibility, but we recommend you to install oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver class.

Microsoft SQL Server
- MS SQL Server supports various languages, so choose preferred language.

IBM DB2
- In case of DB2 database, you can get driver at [DB2_HOME]/SQLLIB/java.

Go to DBMS Connection and click 'Browse' button.
Select JDBC driver file. (In Case of Oracle)
After selecting driver class, enter the connecting information.

Click 'Check the connection' button and check if the connection is obtained successfully.
